Remeber my work?
Hello everybody. I am not sure if you remember me, but I haven't been around here in years. Does anybody out there remember this? Because that was my work. If anybody asks, there is a good reason for this being on this section.

Re: Remeber my work?
Would you like to give names to Exoplanets?
If so I would have suggestions...
I made a nomenclature for my SciFi comics but I'm not sure if telling some here...

Re: Remeber my work?
Yeah, I remember you =P.
And indeed I am curious. What's the relevance with detection methods?

Re: Remeber my work?
it's VEGA! yeah, i remember those days. I have since moved my "System of the Day" stuff to a mini-wiki I made at http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/Exoplanetary_Wiki . If you want, you can make a page on that wiki with some of the names you came up with.

Re: Remeber my work?
Wow, two of ya remember me ^_^ That's enough of that, I haven't been around anymore because of... crap. I have been doing cartoons on deviantART for the past few years. But I have been getting back into extrasolar planets, so I felt like coming back here for a bit. Also, the reason I didn't make my name here "Vega" is because that name is now taken for my main character, Vega and Deneb.
I didn't know that wiki was yours
(small world). Thanks for the offer, Andy, but I put this message on here because I also have a wiki page. Sorry if this should not go here, but I haven't been here in years (sue me). Though my wiki is for everything about me, I did make a page showing my names I did years ago. Here is the link to it (check it out if you wish). I'd also like to mention that after looking at my names, I saw many flaws and crappy names I did. So I am considering my old list null and void. But not all the names have changes. For instance, I named my favorite planet Chronos (do you rember which one it was?).
Also, if you don't mind me saying, it is really nice to talk to you guys again. I felt really alienated not coming here so long.

Pretty nice wiki page. By all means, welcome to EVII! Definitely make yourself at home =). It's nice talking with you, too.

I remember you quite well. How's it going? If you looked at the link I mentioned above, you can tell your ideas there for planet names (if you wish to).

Re: Remeber my work?
At the moment I've cleared my deviantart page where I put planetary stuff, because I'm working on another Sci-Fi comics taking place on an alternate Earth (if you're interested webpage is http://jurassic-gothic.deviantart.com). Sci-Fi space account is currently suspended.
However I took a look at your page, NuclearVacuum, that is an interesting nomenclature. I did use a different one for those systems:
- 16 Cygni Bb - Leda
- Upsilon Andromedae:
- b - Melpomene
- c - Thalia
- d - Urania
- e (putative) - Clio
HD 28185 b - Nilus
55 Cancri (ordered from minimum orbital separation):
b - Chthonos (Hot Neptune)
c - Romulus (Blue Hot Jovian)
d - Remus (Less Hot Blue Saturn)
e - Ripheus (Water subjovian)
f (putative) - Vulturnus
g - Radamanthus (Jovian)
h (putative) - Aeacus (outermost jovian)
Iota Horologii b - Ixchel

Yes, but they're all...protected by copyright, uh? *lol*
Well, let's see, if you wish more, here for you:
23 Librae b - Themis
Cha Ha8 b - Kyoktis (exotic spelling of "Cocytus" from Milton's Lost Paradise)
Eta2 Hydri b - Hasmodeus
Gliese 849 b - Aegir
Gliese 876 (ordered according to detection)
b - Nereus (that at 0.21 AUs)
c - Amphitrite (that at 0.13 AUs)
d - Icarus (the Hot SuperEarth)
Gliese 581 system
b - Halcyoneus
c - Theia
d - Mnemosyne
e (putative Earth-sized at 0.11 AUs) - Clymene
HD 189733 b - Seth
HD 37605 b - Semeyaza (Fallen Angel eternally exiled in Orion constellation, in Kabbala. I think...)
V391 Pegasi b (sdB star) - Sheol
OGLE-06-109L system:
b - Oz
c - Zardoz (both exotic names fit well with very faaaaar away nature of system)
And much, much more. Tell me what you think. But I'd like to know what exactly you'd like to do with Exoplanets' name. Using for a science fiction of yours or proposing as popular Exoplanet names alike Bellerophon, Osiris and Methuselah?
If you mean the former, remember all these belong to my Sci-Fi series, you know. If you mean the latter, that would be nice, but I wish to be credited.

Re: Remeber my work?
This thread obviously needs to be moved. I'm not sure what forum to move it into though...
As time has gone on, I've become to think we need a "Purgatory"-like forum, for things that don't fit into any of the other categories.
