Anyway after a pair of quintillon years someone has to come up with some neat trick to harvest hawking radiation out of black holes.

Orders of magnitude easier to do than store and move Brown Dwarfs around.

But would the Hawking radiation be enough to sustain a civilisation?

As far as they are able to compress matter in small enougth black holes they could become very handy. With iron you gain nothing from fussion and cannot get anything worth fissionable so , make small black holes , and watch them glow in brigth gamma radiation and usable protons courtesy of the black hole evaporation. Could be seen named metastars.

I'm sure Hawking radiation, a long time from now, will be the only natural source of energy, but I mean, would the radiation flux be enough to do anything? I get the impression that a black hole's hawking radiation can't even power a flashlight, much less a civilisation. I've always imagined the radiation as an extremely slow trickle of energy.

Too scary for me to think about, but good news for Mother Russia!

10^-7*1.98892*10^19 = 1.98892*10^12
