Massive planet candidates from SOPHIE

Post by Lazarus on 4th November 2011, 2:32 pm

The SOPHIE search for northern extrasolar planets? IV. Massive companions in the planet-brown dwarf boundary (pdf)

Two potential planet candidates: a >13.65 Jupiter mass companion around HD 22781, and a >9.71 Jupiter mass companion around HD 156279. Both in highly elliptical orbits.

A few brown dwarf and stellar companions in that paper as well.

Nice to see some astrometric upper limits. I hope for not so high inclinations and substellar regime. Wink
