STRESS - STEREO TRansiting Exoplanet and Stellar Survey
The Heliospheric Imager (HI) instruments on board the two STEREO (Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory) spacecraft provides an excellent opportunity for space based stellar photometry. The HI instruments provide a wide area coverage (20 20 for the two HI-1 instruments and 70 70 for the two HI-2 instruments) and long continuous periods of observations (20 days and 70 days respectively). Using HI-1A which has a pass band of 6500 to 7500 and a cadence of 40 minutes, we have gathered photometric information for more than a million stars brighter than 12th magnitude for a period of two years. Here we present some early results from this study on a range of variable stars and the future prospects for the data.

Plan to use images of the new solar observatory SDO (Solar Dynamics Observatory) too to search for transit exoplanets?

Almost as good as TATOOINE and FUN. They are getting quite creative with their acronyms.

Title: Space-based Search for Exoplanets Transiting Bright Stars
Abstract:
I will present a project that uses data from the currently operating space mission STEREO to search for exoplanets transiting bright stars. It will provide a complete survey of all bright stars (<10m) for 18% of the sky. The photometric data series have the sensitivity to detect all transiting hot Jupiters and other gas giants with periods up to ~20 days and even some Neptune size planets orbiting bright and/or late type stars. In my presentation I will describe the capabilities and limitations of the project, will demonstrate the utility of the
images for searching for transiting exoplanets, and will describe the existing data for RV discovered planets.

Looks very interesting.

But in http://simbad.u-strasbg.fr/simbad/ HD189365 it means, as a giant star.

Sometimes, SIMBAD has incorrect luminosity classes for stars. 51 Peg coming to mind.
