That was pretty neat. =)

I don't suppose anyone tried to harvest zero-point energy once they were running out of stars?

now , that clip was totally disturbing.
Anyway after a pair of quintillon years someone has to come up with some neat trick to harvest hawking radiation out of black holes.

Orders of magnitude easier to do than store and move Brown Dwarfs around.

But would the Hawking radiation be enough to sustain a civilisation?

Agree, poor graphics, a song in Russian. But for me it is the first clip I saw on this topic.

Way in the clip where the girl's picture in the window of an inscription in Russian "I am 10 years old." Then newcomer to the field of grass and flowers "I have 10 to 10 degrees year." And then on a black background "I'm 10 in 10 in 10 degree years". And the lyrics "Legends of the high destiny of human"

As far as they are able to compress matter in small enougth black holes they could become very handy. With iron you gain nothing from fussion and cannot get anything worth fissionable so , make small black holes , and watch them glow in brigth gamma radiation and usable protons courtesy of the black hole evaporation. Could be seen named metastars.

Uhm...like the name , i'll see if i can patent it Wink

I'm sure Hawking radiation, a long time from now, will be the only natural source of energy, but I mean, would the radiation flux be enough to do anything? I get the impression that a black hole's hawking radiation can't even power a flashlight, much less a civilisation. I've always imagined the radiation as an extremely slow trickle of energy.

as variant transformation people in electronic type life in supercomputer coolled short of absolute zero, which will comsume minimum to energy

I did some digging and the equation i came about with this

T = 10^-7 * (Msun/Mhole) Kelvin

http://resources.metapress.com/pdf-preview.axd?code=x8t42q4q50636815&size=largest

A tiny black hole of pure iron above the 10^14 grams
Msun = 1.98892 10^33 g

10^-7*1.98892*10^19 = 1.98892*10^12

Bigger black holes would yield lower temperatures a longer time.
Heat enougth for some flashligths i'd say.

Kind of reminds me of the "Five Ages of the Universe" book I read a long time ago.

I remeber it saying something about dark matter and I think white dwarfs.....dunno if that outdated though.
