Even more evidence that stellar mass is an important factor in the properties of the planetary system.

Re: HD 173416 b - the first Japanese/Chinese exoplanet
I see so many giant stars at great distances do host extrasolar jovian planets. I wonder if also nearby ones do.
Pollux does and so does Gamma Cephei.
Aldebaran and Arcturus seem having still unconfirmed companions....
I had got an old paper with some G-K giants with peculiar periodicities. Nearly those same periods were still reported in a recent paper Lazarus posted in "Unconfirmed planets" thread and I still wonder if they may turn out being orbital periods of low mass or substellar companions. Amongst the stars mentioned and with significant periodicities:
- Aldebaran - suspected having a superjovian planet
- Arcturus - ditto
- Pollux - confirmed planet
- Iota Aurigae - a couple of brown dwarfs?
- 15 Librae (or Ksi2 Librae)
- Beta Ceti
Who knows, maye Okayama Planet Search could unveil the presence or not of planetary companions out there.
