Iron Giant

Post by ciceron on 4th May 2017, 7:14 am

In one forum there was some discussions about how big could a planet be before being considered some kind of star and i started thinking... ok , what if a planet is more than 90% iron? Even if it reaches so much mass that the iron core can do atom fusion , that would consume energy , not produce it , as a net result.
Could such a planet be considered some kind of star? Is there even a name for such a body? If not , i hereby reclaim the name Negstar for them Wink
