No evidence for HD 17156 c

Post by Sirius_Alpha on 27th October 2008, 8:19 pm

This paper, http://arxiv.org/abs/0810.4725 , suggests that there is no transit timing variations consistent with an outer planet.

The paper where HD 17156 c was proposed (Short et al. "Orbital Dynamics Of A Possible Second Planet In HD 17156", arXiv:0803.2935 [astro-ph]) has now been retracted. See the note on https://arxiv.org/abs/0803.2935v3
OUTDATED, REJECTED AND CANNOT BE PUBLISHED. DOES NOT INCLUDE VARIOUS ADVANCEMENTS IN THE FIELD (REPORTED IN OTHER PUBLICATIONS). NEED MORE DATA OBTAINED, AT WHICH POINT A COMPLETELY NEW PAPER WILL BE WRITTEN. PLEASE SCRAP
Maybe Wikipedia should have waited for the paper to actually get published before giving HD 17156 c its very own page...
