Interferometric radii of 16 Cyg A/B, theta Cyg

Interferometric radii of bright Kepler stars with the CHARA Array: θ Cygni and 16 Cygni A and B

Theta Cyg and 16 Cyg both lie in the Kepler field, so this helps constrain the asteroseismology. 16 Cyg B is an exoplanet host star, while theta Cyg has odd radial velocity variations which have not yet been explained.

Only for a moment i wondered if Kepler could be able of detecting the light reflected of 16 Cyg Bb.

Obviously it' s very difficult, with a planet period of 800 days.

On the other hand, with this quality of photometry, radial velocities can be filtered much better against noises. I don' t know if the planet hunters have been using its spectrographs intensively during the last four years, with this star. It would have been a pity if they hadn' t done that.

At 0.5 AU at perihelion, I would not expect 16 Cyg Bb to reflect enough light to be detectable by Kepler for any reasonable assumption of the planetary radius and albedo.
