Multiple resonances and 3D planetary systems

Trapping in three-planet resonances during gas-driven migration
Formation of '3D' multiplanet systems by dynamical disruption of multiple-resonance configurations

Seems that multiple resonances often end up causing disruption of the planetary system through eccentricity growth and planet-planet scattering.

I wonder if this will be the fate of the HR 8799 system?
