Gliese 581d: not hypervolcanic
Tidal Limits to Planetary Habitability - apparently Gliese 581d does not experience enough tidal heating to drive plate tectonics. Of course this does not rule out volcanism from radiogenic heating, but it does mean that the planet is not an Io-style hellworld.

Re: Gliese 581d: not hypervolcanic
Was there ever any reason that it would be? I recall c being proposed as being a "Super-Io", but I don't think I've heard anything about d being as such. It's always crossed my mind as more of a Super-Europa.

Not really. But with an e=0.38 it's nice to know.

Gliese 581c is on the warm inner edge of the habitable zone, while Gliese 581d is on the cold outer edge of the red dwarf habitable zone
